Government Travel

Booking travel and accommodations within the government is very labor intensive; we wanted to fix that. For this project, my team improved the customer experience by creating new branding as well as revamped the entire online process. We began by providing users with a “Quick Book” option where the system suggested travel options based on policy and preferences to shortcut the full booking process; User design elements were created to make compliant choices obvious and apparent.

We increased the amount of information that could be auto-filled by the system based on previous trips or other available data in the system. We used plain language to reduce the need for explanations and walkthroughs from the program. Utilizing some amazing design talent and UX pros, we were able to cut booking time from ~45 minutes to five. It was an impressive improvement, especially on government time.
